  • An air conditioning and heating consortium joins the program

Located in L’Islet, Quebec, Ouellet Canada is a consortium of companies that are experts in air conditioning and electric, gas and oil heating products manufactured for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Global Commander-branded products will be the first that the company will have accredited as “Well Made Here”.

It all started in 1960 through the initiative of an ingenious Quebecer, Charles-Émile Ouellet. Beginning as a small backyard business in a makeshift workshop attached to his home, the humble company has constantly pushed the limits of innovation and focused its research and production on high-performance electric heating products. The organization gradually conquered the Quebec, Canadian, American and the overseas markets.

In 2020, a distribution agreement was reached with Glen Dimplex Americas, also a program participant, making Ouellet Canada the supplier of Dimplex and Convectair brand heating products in the electrical distribution network in Canada.

“In this era where society is dealing with significant economic and climate issues, our participation in the “Well Made Here” program and the accreditation of our Global Commander brand products align with our strategic positioning as an important player in energy transition in North America.” – Isabel Cloutier, Retail Market Manager, Ouellet Canada.

The group’s main brands are Ouellet, Global Commander, Momento, Hazloc Heaters, Dettson, ACD, Britech, Innovair and Delta-Therm.

The organization, which employs more than 500 people, operates nine sites and distributes more than ten brands across America, is listed among Canada’s best-managed companies for 2022.
