  • A committee in the making to examine manufacturer-specific issues related to the program

    “Strong and proud of participating in the “Well Made Here” program, manufacturers now have their own committee to focus on optimizing the communication of their needs, expectations, objectives, suggestions and comments along the supply chain that links manufacturers to retailers”, explains Paul Faulkner, who serves as the representative for the manufacturers on the board of directors, to whom he will bring the recommendations and reports resulting from the committee’s efforts.

    Some of the first mandates this group of advisors will tackle are; an examination of the tactics used to promote accredited products, fostering closer connections between stakeholders along the whole of the supply chain, and increasing the “Well Made Here” brand’s notoriety.

    Ideally, the membership of this committee will reflect diversity and be gender-mixed so that there are both men and women. It will be comprised of :

    • The representative to the participating manufacturers who holds a seat on the board of directors
    • An even number (between 6 and 10) of executives from participating manufacturing companies:
      –  from different provinces;
      –  different product categories;
      –  of different sizes.
    • A representative from among program staff
    • Depending on the subject matter, guests or experts

    Persons in leadership roles with participating manufacturing companies are invited to express their interest in serving on this committee. The program team hopes that the first meeting of this committee will take place in May. Interest can be expressed by writing to Célie Cournoyer, Director of Operations for “Well Made Here”.

    “Given that the heart of the program is the products, it followed logically to consider bringing together the manufacturers who make them to examine the issues they face, especially since the board of directors’ focus is essentially on good governance of the program and ensuring the budget balances,” says Ms. Cournoyer.

    Paul Faulkner, Marketing and Sales Manager, Dural a division of MULTIBOND, has volunteered to chair the committee.
